I don't remember where I read it but one tweek I found for Garrards is to glue the original rubber mat to the platter, I did try this on my Goldring G99 and there was quite a big leap in sound...

I would have thought that if you mix different manufacturers valves in the same amp the you will get distortion if you have one of each in each channel and a channel imbalance if you have one type in...

I got one of those but the email address wasn't mine so I'm not sure why I got it, the zip file said it was an application so I deleted it rather than risk unzipping it.

The glowing reports on this amp are all true it really is very good and does drive the Missions very well so now I don't have to watch countless soap's or listen though headphones any...

The amp tuned up today and I had a spare hour around tea time so off came the bottom, the soldering doesn't inspire confidence so out came the soldering iron and vacuum pump and all supicious joint's...

Yeah I know but that was the figure that was quoted on the web site as the original circuit was "enhanced" for higher power, and I always use mine in triode mode anyway which is supposed to be 16wpc....

You might be right It is only a small room so doesn't take a lot to fill with sound but my Beam Echo mono block clones struggle a bit in the main listening room with them and they're supposed to be...

Thanks Dave I stand corrected, I think that they had trouble getting everything just before WAD went under. It took me six months and loads of phone calls to get all the bits from them for my PreII...
