Active WD25T's

Hi

Has anyone tried implementing an active crossover with the WD25T's (or A's), and if so how did it go? Any gotchas to look out for?

I'm thinking about overhauling my setup and going down the...

Re: Finally wired up my WD25T's

Cheers Edwin

I've gone for the Osmo Polyx oil/wax treatment. It's meant for wood floors so is pretty sturdy.

Got some test pieces drying now, and hopefully start to finish my speakers on...

Re: Finally wired up my WD25T's

Not a build update, but an observation on the "break in."

I guess the speakers have about 30 hours of use and tonight it dawned on me that I'm using less volume than I did when I first played...

Re: Finally wired up my WD25T's

Hopefully I will be able to veneer them this weekend so long as the glue film iron adhesive turns up.

I've been experimenting with pva glue and sections of the walnut veneer, but I can't get...

Re: Finally wired up my WD25T's

LOL - I meant Tung oil, but tug oil could be used in an inuendo way to describe how I feel about them :D

Sadly, I didn't take any build pictures - I kept thinking I should, but never got around to...

Finally wired up my WD25T's

WOW !!! :):)

I bought these back in June and from the look of things I think I was one of the last few before they closed.

A house extension and subsequent DIY stopped me from building them,...

Re: Loudspeaker panel material

Ok, yeah, that makes sense.

I guess it's the standard stuff, especially as the MDF is the surface and the particle board/chipboard is on the inside.

Re: WD25A change to construction - Any impacts?

Thanks naimart.

Like you I also thought about making the box slightly deeper in shape, but only cosmetically, not internally. but I've written that off as too much extra work !!

Also I need the...

Re: Loudspeaker panel material

Actually that may not be so good.

Looks like you want high density chipboard (might be called superfine chipboard) as that's the only one that cuts well. See this...

Re: Loudspeaker panel material

The particle board could well be the cement particle board that B&Q sell. This link says it's used in acoustic flooring..

WD25A change to construction - Any impacts?

I've been studying the panel dimensions in the construction article and would like to make a change to the front baffle attachment to the speaker. My change shows that no internal dimensions, and...

Re: Minimum room size for WD25 A's?

Mel

Excellent, thanks. I have to say I'm not an audiophile, but I do object to spending silly money for Hi Fi equipment. Having built a Gainclone amp from a set of schematics on Diy Hi Fi (Carlos...

Re: Minimum room size for WD25 A's?

Thanks Greg.

I actually think the room will be closer to 8 foot wide - I'm working off the plans for the extension as it's not been built yet !! So the most I can get them away from the side wall...

Minimum room size for WD25 A's?

Hi, a long time lurker, but now have a question.

I think the WD25A's could well be the speaker I'm after - my listening room is upstairs and with chipboard floors. From what I have read on the web...
