Re: Michell Gyro

To be honest, I can hear no audible difference between the Gyro platter and the Orbe Platter. I swap between them, but find that if I have the Gyro Platter fitted I have less propensity to leave the...

Re: Driving an EM84 'Magic Eye'

a few reasons really. One is to learn a bit more about valves and the circuitry around them, another is to build something truly unique, and I suppose, I've always had a fascination with the EM84 as...

Re: kel84 el84 valve glowing red

Probably due a complete re-tube before long. just need to get a pair of ECF80s soon. :)

Re: kel84 el84 valve glowing red

Re: kel84 el84 valve glowing red

Driving an EM84 'Magic Eye'

I'm thinking about building a pair of 300B interstage monoblocks, the circuit is on the SPWound website, which uses a 6c45pi as the input/driver for the interstage transformers.
From what I can...

Re: Tri-colour LED retro-fit in KEL84

Thanks Richard. couldn't remember where the other half of the LED wired up to.

the cathode bias voltage sits around 11v I think. I couldn't get a 3w resistor. in fact Maplin are pretty useless in...

Tri-colour LED retro-fit in KEL84

I'm about to fit a new LED to a KEL84 for a friend. The original LED, connected across the heaters has failed due to complete lack of current limiting resistor. I seem to have misplaced my own...

Re: MCT Stepup Transformers

yes, I've thought about that.

I'm planning to fit a couple of extra Phono sockets as well, and adopt the method used by whest - making up phono plugs with different resistor values.

Re: Phono II looses right channel

Greg, although I'm a novice at this, I'm going to have a stab at suggesting something.

have you tried swapping C10/11 to rule out one of them going intermittently open circuit? (they're those...
