I can sympathise with you Van. I too now have poor hearing at almost 67 :( three weeks ago I woke, got out of bed and almost fell over, almost no hearing in my right ear and louder than usual...

Well I use QED79 from output transformer to the speakers and it works fine plus it is cheap, I could no more piss about with fancy cable or hospital oxygen tubing :confused:. Bob

Andy, you should put the resistor, capacitor and diode all in parallel to alleviate switching spikes, that is what is in M Jones book, and he say's 1meg 2watt. Bob

Yes, Shottcky diodes are the chosen best, but I would only fit them to the HT side, bypass each diode with a small capacitor 400v 10nF polyester, this is best done on the underside of the board, if...

Alasdair, does your WD88 have the relays for input selection ? if so, then the problem is with the 88 and not any external source, because as soon as power is switched off, the relay will close...

Well Greg, I have used the WD wire and others of silver plate in interconnect and hook up wire inside the amps. and can ashore you the sound I was hearing was far too bright, just as the shunt pot...

Interesting Andy, I can concur with the Hi-Fi collective motorized kit from Nick Lucas, I have that in my Akidio CF, it works on 9volt DC or 6volt AC, so you will use 6v AC, I use a tap off the 9...
