Just to get this thread back on track I thought I would report in that I installed the delta cap with varistor as per the FAQ post. A little tricky to install on the back of the IEC socket...

Just for my education, is the above (see FAQ tweaks) to suppress mains borne noises such as the fridge switching on causing a “click” or will it filter rfi being picked up by the power cord...

The gloss was Dulux gloss enamel black in spray cans. It is just tricky to apply consistently in hot weather, one coat would be spot on but I would get some “orange peel” with the next. If...

My only experience re KT88's are the Golden Dragons as supplied as standard by Matthew with my WD88VA. Mine are still going strong 2 1/2 years later and sound great. Just my 2 cents worth....

3A slow blow fuse purchased and inserted and all well again. For the tech-minded, is "slow-blow" the same as antisurge?
I did also take the opportunity to tie down C14 and 17 a little more securely....
