Re: KEL84 Conundrum/advice
Richard if you prefer Quad 306 then you have the choice to replace the Kel84, or may be a new set of valves, a change of cables, or possible change of caps. I bought some used power cables this week...

Re: WAD 300b hum and buzz
Check for ground loops and experiment with cable layout and locations, you may also have tugged on a dry joint?

Re: KiT/KaT6550 and fuse blowing inrush current

I...

Re: Crossover components rolling ?
I don't know why you would risk destroying £200 tweeter by using under rated capacitor, I would be very stressed at pushing the volume up, the voice coil is very delicate if the cap fails.

Re: recapping speakers
My first speaker diy kit was KEF constructor, the crossover used the Alcap capacitors. It's worth keeping an eye on the tolerance as 5% could make a possible difference of 10% so on a 100uf one could...

Hi Phil, thanks for your comments. The return (-) for both the tweeter and bass/mid are from a single point on the input box, individually connected to LF and HF parts of the crossover.
