Many thanks for the quick response Richard. I have the single input Phono 3 version, so that's going to be an easy change to make.

Out of interest, what would the R6 resistor value be for PSU II...

Re: Making changes to PSU II

I've rebuilt my Pre3 as a 6 input Stereo Coffee LDR preamp just like Greg's.

So that means that my PSU3 will now only be supplying power to Phono3. Can anyone remind me what value of resistor I...

Re: 6550 integrated amp

Which is why I recommended using the shielded cable. Start with getting the amp running in a fairly standard form before introducing such non standard parts/architecture....

Remember, Steve's new...

Hi Steve and welcome to the WD forum. You will get lots of good advice here.

If it were me, I'd probably use this screened silver plated copper wire for the job.:...

Maybe it's my PC, but these diagrams are not showing correctly. What I can see does indeed look familiar to a WAD/WD Phono user...

Re: WD/WAD PSU PHONO II Choke upgrade

Well I'm certainly keeping the Hammond in my PSU3, Phono 3, Pre 3 set up, but I've also still got a PSUII, PhonoII PreII set in a cupboard, and I'm beginning to wonder about making use of the PSUII...

Philip - don't bother tracking this one down at your local charity shop, it would be a...

Re: WD/WAD PSU PHONO II Choke upgrade

Honestly it's 20 well spent - and such an easy modification. I've just spent hours carefully replacing caps, resistors and wiring in my Kecl82 in order to get a real upgrade in the sound. You'll...

Re: WD/WAD PSU PHONO II Choke upgrade

Re: New members

Yeah, I've been down the 4 litre quad cam V8 route...:D

These days, I'm mostly running a pushrod 3.4 litre V6, but in a fiberglass bodied car, so the power/weight ratio is OK:thumbsup:

Re: CF up and running......... but

Well done on curing the problem Andy. Of course the Hammond choke mod would be even cheaper;) but we don't know for sure whether that would have fixed your particular problem.
