I too can only hear up to about 9kcps in the good ear and 8 in other,having now a focused system
the balance difference is far more pronounced sometimes,on the plus side tracing distortion...

I built a pair of IPL STL5 after getting rid of my PRO9TL nearly 20 years ago and went valve almost at the same time starting off with a OTE se, after climbing the then Nam ladder.

Excepting a better explanation the impedance you refer to is not based at DC rather AC i.e. as compared to an actual signal applied to it and is a nominal figure as obviously your tweeter...

Another one for EEGG I bought two pairs back in 03 from a guy called (chinaarts, eBay) still in use today albeit winter use only, Richards’s description of a powerful sound is good.
