Re: The down side off getting old.

Re: Wanted - Mullard GZ34

Re: KEL 84 parasitic osscilation

parasitic oscillation is very unusual for this amp imho ....

- what approx frequency are we talking about?
- how does it affect the amp's performance?
- is it a real KEL84 using the PCB with...

Re: Tad

Nevertheless I would agree wholeheartedly with Ardee. And as a guitarist too I never buy my valves from Hotrocks who appear to use anything cheap (Chinese, Russian and JJ re-branded) I'm happier...

Re: Sony Music goes back to vinyl records

My local Sainsbury's has just increased the floor space given over to vinyl. I drool and applaud Mr Sainsbury for his adventuresome/marketing spirit but I don't buy nuffink because a) I have all the...

Re: Two stage Cathode follower

1. what's the point of a CF?
2. Surely, whatever you have as a front end the volume control changes the parameters so much as to lose the benefits of a CF?
3. I've never seen it done before (CFs...

I would agree with Richard on his point and ...

I have enjoyed KEL84s in several shapes mods and builds. The KT88 amp is powerful (too beefy for me) and although a good step up from the Ming Das...

Re: gm-70 help

I'll be the pessimist here - A Liang amp is max-ed out in the current and HT supplies. It will get too hot and components will fail eventually. One person I know stuck long legs on the underneath and...

Re: The importance of coil resistance

Interesting ... I'd a thought that air cored inductors will always be bigger than their equivalent ferrite cored because they don't have the ferrite core to help achieve the inductance. If there are...

Re: WD25T and fire surrounds

Fine, so relative to say 1kHz OR 2kHz how well can you hear 15kHz? This measurement is crucial because the experience of a 15kHz pure tone (and we are talking here of a sine wave) at 30dBSPL is very...
