I always thought paper drivers were preferable, but i have metal cones in a pair of Acoustic Energy speakers and i do quite like them. They don't seem to have a signature sound at all.

If they're nothing more than coupling caps, then the difference will probably be minimal.
You might notice more of a change through using a different brand.
I rate Clarity Caps quite highly, but...

Expect some changes in the sound during the first 100 or so hours.
When you think it has settled, try swapping the input cap for a Wima FKP2.
Don't usually like Wima caps, but this one...

That looks similar to the "Rocky" amp circuit that i built.
Mine was never quite loud enough for me when fed direct from CD. That was with 6J5(6sn7) /EL34 into 94dB speakers.

It's a bit like any other cap. You get both good reports and people slagging them off.
They do seem to crop up in some commercial stuff these days. Don't know if that's a recommendation or not...

Nichicons seem quite popular these days, and you can get them from Hificollective.
Elna Silmics are usually a safe bet too.
Cerafines.
Some say Panasonic FC are good, some don't. It's difficult.

Well i didn't realise that the chips were soldered in place. I thought it was a bare PCB, and that was enough to put me off..
If i was starting from scratch, i would have left out the entire op- amp...
