And still you have not answered the question Stuart, I agree, the Stax are bloody expensive, but they do beat the hell out of even the best speakers, try and get a demo, you may be very surprised. BOB

bloody hell, this cheap h/amp now trounced any other amp I have owned. As I asked earlier, have you ever heard Stax ear speakers?, if not, I suggest you do, funny, you do even have to take them...

OK Zak, if you are going to use your Pre II case, then the WD relay board will not match the back panel holes, you will need a Pre III case, Matthew Snell can supply just a case and your front panel...

The arm was a SME 3009, and was fitted, first solidly to the plinth, later I removed it and fitted the four SME rubbers, no difference at all, it is/was the motor vibration being transferred through...

If you get another, you can bi amp your speakers :thumbsup:, but as for turning each into mono amp's, it's possible, but will require a major redesign. BOB

I have my KT88 on the bottom shelf of my rack, with about 50 mm clearance to the top of the power valves, I have not measured the temp., but with my wood burner alight, the room can quickly reach 30...
