So are you saying the sound has changed or that you have started to notice something that was there all along?
If something has changed, then obviously you should be able to get it back to where it was. The first question to ask, have you changed anything lately? Moved the speakers, changed some cables, moved the hifi gear around on its supports ?
Suggesting getting rid of the amp is an over reaction, you need to be methodical to get to the bottom of things. I used a KEL84 for about 10 years, they are a great sounding, very musical amp and certainly don't have boomy bass.
