Hi All,
I am going to build the WD CF as a nice little autumn project. I would like to mount a switch for my DAC which would by-pass the amplification and volume pot completely. Has anyone done this with the standard casework and what did they use? I guess it would have to be on the rear panel which is ok. Regards, Graham |

Hello Graham,
I've not thought it through fully but you might be able to fit a double pole changeover relay at the input, that bypasses the active stage. If this was powered by the heaters, switching the pre off could release the relay, bypassing the active circuit and giving you your "straight through" option. Obviously, you would need to fit a power switch on the Pre. Not sure if "unloading" the psu in this way would cause any problems with the HT voltage for the Phono, perhaps others could comment? Phil.

Thanks Phil - but I think I may have overlooked a blindingly obvious and simple solution, and that is just to ask Mathew to send me a new face plate, rotary selector and single pair of RCA inputs for my KT-88 power amp.

Ah yes, simple ideas are the best. That makes more sense.
Phil.

Hi... I just got my new thermo sensors in, I know they go on the radiator somewhere (I think) so where at, please? I want to install a bypass switch on them too, but that comes when I have more time....right now, I'd like to replace the thermo sensors, (is that the right name?) as I know they're prone to failure.

Perhaps they were drunk and thought they had signed in to the plumbing forum that they are a member of.
