Default e-bay air bearing arm - opinions

i have just noticed this arm(s) on ebay after searching for lenco.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TANGENTIAL-AIR...QQcmdZViewItem. i know very little about such things and would be interested to hear why this particular arm is good or not. it does appear to be a complete set up, pump n all and seems rather cheap. there must be a reason, right?

Don't know, but I think you could ask the seller.

You'll need to wade through the ramblings down to post 31 in the thread Nick's linked to. K9VAP has made what looks like a beautiful job of his Ladegaard, and now seems willing to repeat the exercise for a ridiculously small payment!

It does look very good.
Especially when you compare it to the "Cartridge Man" PT which was in reviewed in HFW recently.
Price....well I think Shane summed that up!

Regards
Gerry

Ive built one just recently and im very surprised/pleased with the results. Sounds great, much better than the rega rb250 it replaced. Doesnt look as nice as his, but only cost about £30 to make.

In this thread
http://www.world-designs.co.uk/forum...ead.php?t=2336

This was just the first lash up to see if it was worth perserveering (sp) with.

It was, so i rebuilt the arm/carriage and am rebuilding the air bearing too. Im still not worrying about it being pretty, ill worry about that when it sounds as good as possible.

It really is quite remarkable the sound for the price. I know this is rough, but it only took a day to throw together.

its very open/detailed, much more seperation etc etc etc.

Im no good at describing how things sound, it all starts to sound pompous. But trust me, they work well.
