Thumbs up The Flaming Lips!

Great review Mark, much better than most of the two-liners in this thread!
Is it as good as 'The Soft Bulletin', which I slightly prefer to Yoshimi. As for sound balance, I find their recordings to be very interesting, never exactly 'wrong' but always different to the usual anaemic modern studio sound.

I tried to buy their new LP yesterday, but the vinyl pressings have been 'delayed'.
Apparently, I will have a choice of either the coloured or heavy vinyl pressing when the pressing plants and distributors have got their behinds in gear.

Actually, I think it is nearer 'The Soft Bulletin' than 'Yoshimi' in style and feel. Listened through again since I posted and it is a grower - starts good and gets better.

Diverse Vinyl say that we won't see vinyl until September!

Thanks

Mark

Thanks again Mark.
Hopefully I can take Diverse Vinyl's release schedule as seriously as thier prices!

As for 'What am I listening to' - my new listening room!
It is 50% bigger than the last but with that pikey 90's nightmare - laminate flooring. Initial impressions were not good, but with all my rugs moved into the room and all the big furniture moved to the corners it is showing promise.

Last night's listening was a record of "A poke in the eye (with a sharp stick)" i.e. the Amnesty International gigs done by the Pythons et al back in the day. And the Last Supper sketch is still good.
