WDPhono3 is an all valve
preamplifier to match a wide variety of turntables and
cartridges. This standard module utilises all passive RIAA
equalisation over two gain stages to offer unparalleled
accuracy and freedom from the slew rate limiting of common
loop feedback EQ stages.
The input can be configured for MM or MC cartridges, the
latter via optional wide bandwidth MC step-up transformers.
Upgrade XL option includes high performance HT smoothing
capacitors, JJ ECC83S valves
and Soniqs polypropylene output capacitors for those who
want the ultimate in performance.

WDPhono3 with Dual
Switched Inputs & Adjustable LF Filtering

WDPhono3S is a Switched Input
version of WDPhono3. This kit includes twin inputs which can
be configured as MM/MM or MM/MC with individual cartridge
loading for each input. Switching is managed by high
quality, gold contact relays on the rear phono sockets,
optimising the signal path, operated via a front panel
selector. The MM input can be loaded with parallel
resistance and capacitance to suit the particular
requirements of any cartridge. Similarly the MC input, with
wide bandwidth transformers, can be optimised with both
secondary and primary loading resistors to match the
generator impedance of any MC cartridge. The included MC
step-up transformers can be configured as 10:1 or 20:1 gain
to match medium or ultra low output cartridges.
RIAA equalisation is handled by two stage passive EQ which
features switched High Pass filtering allowing you to choose
the Low Frequency bandwidth suitable for your turntable and
speakers. Three position filtering allows flat to
infra-bass, 20Hz roll-off or IEC roll-off, chosen via a
front panel selector. Ultra HF EQ is also micro-adjustable,
if you have a 'scope, for those who wish to optimise the
square wave response.
As standard this kit comes with the XL pack which includes
high performance HT smoothing capacitors, NOS 5751 valves
and Soniqs polypropylene output capacitors for those who
desire the ultimate in performance from this outstanding
Phono preamplifier.

WDPSU3 Power Supply for
WDPre3 and WDPhono3

High performance choke power
supply with separate HT and Heater feeds for both WDPre3 and
WDPhono3 preamplifiers. Supplies the correct, smoothed, HT
voltage for each unit. Can be used with either unit
individually or both together. Outputs are via new, low
impedance, multi-way sockets - plugs and umbilical cables
supplied.
Now with new, optimised, PCB design with full Star Earthing
and supplied with Ultra Fast, Low Noise, Schottky Heater
Diodes.
