You need a wide angle lens to get them fully in the frame....

Thanks Phil! I donít think I can get them past the management which is shsme as Iíve always fancied these, and at £100 theyíre a real bargain. The bass units alone are worth that!

Shane, give it a bit of thought. These are very early WD25Tís. They have the first issue tweeters and all is mounted in one of Peterís initial home construct cabinets which he later abandoned for a fully built cabinet version. The back plate (highlighted by Philip) which internally includes the crossover is a red Herring. The main issue is where/how the cabinet has been jointed and the wrong colour wood filler has been used to fill in the gaps. A bit of elbow grease to cut it back to tidy it up, refill, cut back and then stain to blend in could make them quite aesthetically pleasing cabinets. Thereafter, as and when you can or want to afford it, you could upgrade them to the final Mk3 version or just follow the steps Peter took.

Could be tempted myself, new cabinets wouldnít be too difficult to knock up. What do these sound like, are they a decent speaker?

Iíve given this some thought and decided Iíll pass on these as I donít really need another pair of speakers, plus I have several pairs of vintage speakers in the garage awaiting refurb that will probably never happen.
